Scholarly Communication

Serving the Fairfield University Community

The DiMenna-Nyselius Library supports the scholarly and creative work produced at Fairfield University through our scholarly communication outreach, resources, and services. The scholarly communication team, either directly with faculty or through our support of the Faculty Partnership Program, provides the campus community with:

  • Promotion of the scholarly and creative work of the campus community through, among other means, our digital institutional repository, DigitalCommons@Fairfield.

  • Support of faculty in the promotion of their work through Scholar Showcase, the library's faculty profile system, and other means.

  • Consultation with authors on copyright and protection of intellectual property, Creative Commons licenses, publisher agreements, open access, scholarly metrics, and more.

  • Provision of workshops and seminars across campus on scholarly communication tools, resources, skills, and issues.

  • Support of the affordability and accessibility of academic publishing by providing information on transformative agreements.

Scholars in Focus

The DiMenna-Nyselius Library's series, Scholars in Focus, gives you a glimpse into the exciting work happening across the University. The events will feature two researchers presenting for 15 minutes each, followed by a Q&A. This event is for faculty and staff to present to faculty, staff, and students.

If you're interested in speaking about your work at a Scholars in Focus event, please submit your speaker proposal here. The library always welcomes proposals!
