This is information you will want to know as you head into finals week. Check out all of the ways we will help you stay focused, calm, and awake in the coming days....
You could WIN a VIP Study Room for 24 hours on one reading day during finals, just for you (or to share with friends), & a gift bag of treats & study supplies. All you need to do is fill out a brief survey: bit.ly/vipstudy22 (you will be prompted to sign-in with your NetID and password).
During the Library's year long process to craft a Strategic Plan, which was announced to the Fairfield University community in February 2022, there were several virtual staff retreats organized to facilitate mission and goal writing. Of course there were a few team-building activities built in too, and one of them took the form of collaborative poetry writing. The Library staff was divided into Zoom breakout rooms and each group member contributed a line. In honor of National Poetry Month we hope you will enjoy our poems....
We have recently renovated a study area on the lower level of the Library. You can find this spacious spot next to the "Collaboratories" (a drop-in collaborative group work area) and the print journals on the lower level.

There is also new furniture in the Quiet Study Room (room 115). The Quiet Study Room is another drop-in space on the lower level, which features different types of seating, a large whiteboard, and white noise machines.

Did you know we have a new Lactation Room for caregivers? It offers a private space for caregivers who need to express breast milk during their time on campus and is located on the lower level of the Library and accessible during building hours. This is the first space to be fully dedicated for this purpose on campus, created in partnership with the Office of Human Resources and Facilities Management. The Lactation Room can be reserved for 30 minute increments and the reservation link is available to staff, faculty, and students whom register with the Office of Human Resources. For more information see the article in our recent Library newsletter.
