Who is Saint Ignatius?

Saint Ignatius of Loyola was born in 1491 in northern Spain. As a young man, he became a knight, but he was wounded in 1521. He then turned to God and created the Society of Jesus. (Thanks, St. Ignatius!!) He wrote a book full of prayers, ideas, and suggestions, called Spiritual Exercises, which you can check out right here at the DiMenna-Nyselius Library or read online through the Library! If you are interested in learning more about the life of St. Ignatius, look through this list of other materials we have available and check out this website which is full of great ideas to keep the Ignatian spirit alive today.
