PY 124: Intro to I/O Psychology

Home

Welcome!

This guide is designed to help students in PY124: Introduction to I/O Psychology with their research. In particular, it will be helpful for three major projects during the course:

  • An annotated bibliography (10-12 sources) using APA format
    • You can use books, articles, and other sources such as newspaper and magazine articles, etc.
  • A 3-5 page paper
  • An oral presentation
  • ... all on the same topic

For examples of what an annotated bib looks like in APA, check here:

In-Class Exercise

Your professor has put together this in-class exercise to demonstrate that you've learned something new during the library session. Complete and submit via Blackboard.

Using the information covered today, select an article and create a citation followed by an annotation. An annotation should address the following:

  • A summary of its content
  • What is the purpose of the work
  • Who the work is written for
  • Its relevance or usefulness to your selected research/topic
  • Any special or unique features about the material
  • Any strengths, weaknesses or biases in the material

An annotation should generally be about 150 words but I do not expect this sample to be that long. Maybe two or three sentences addressing a few of the bullets above. The citation should follow APA format.
