Rise of the British Empire

History 2216

Rise of the British Empire
Professor William Abbott

Welcome to the online version of your library instruction classes for HIST 2216. In this course you will be studying medieval and early modern Britain, together with those areas that came under British control in the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries: Ireland, the thirteen north American colonies, the  Caribbean plantations, west-African slave stations, several states in India, and what is now eastern Canada.  This guide will help you organize all the possible resources you can use to write your research paper. It is meant for you to use throughout the semester. If you have any questions in-between or after our in-person classes, please feel free to contact the Library Services and Information Desk at any time.  Have a great semester!!
