This online guide will help you as you begin to research for your final paper. We will have a library session before the end of class, but if you are eager to get a head start, you can begin exploring this guide. On it I have listed and linked to some of your best bets for locating American popular music resources.
Some Helpful Starting Points
- Background Sources If you need to look up an artist or a genre or another broad topic to get an overview I recommend starting here.
- Finding Books & Media If you find that you want a more comprehensive overview of an artist, a genre or another broad topic, I recommend using books and ebooks. Remember - even if you don't want to use an entire book as a source, often times a chapter or section of a book will suffice.
- Finding Articles If you need to jump in and find some scholarly journal articles, check out this list of databases.
- Research Tracker If you need help organizing your research process, try out own award-winning Research Tracker.
