Using Print Books in the Library or Checking them out of the Library

During the Fall 2020 semester, physical library Items will be quarantined after use following guidelines and research from the Institute of Museum & Library Services and Northeast Document Conservation Center.

  • Using books in the library:  Please make use of "Return Carts" or "Return Trays". Please do not reshelve materials. Instead please put back in-house used items on the "return carts" or "return trays" so that Library Staff can place them in quarantine.
  • Borrowing Physical Items: Students, faculty, and staff can borrow items with a StagCard. View borrowing periods here. If items are requested online for office delivery, library staff will deliver items to staff and faculty on-campus offices. When classes start on 9/1, Contact-Free pickup service will no longer be available.
    • Returning and Renewing Physical Items: Library materials can be renewed online. Items can be returned to the Library Services & Information Desk or one of the two book drops, located on the exterior side of the Library facing Bannow or the book drop inside the Library lobby.
  • If you can not get to the Library to access print books: Use our expanded Scan & Deliver service to request book chapters and articles from physical items. Library staff will scan and email pdfs. Please allow anywhere from 2- 4 business days for Scan & Deliver requests to be processed.
