Integrating Library Resources into Blackboard

Databases

Linking to Databases in Blackboard

The following is a description of the process used to add individual library databases into Blackboard Course Content.

For a complete list of our databases visit the A-Z Database List. For a list of databases organized by discipline/subject, visit our research guides. For the example below, we used the A-Z Database List.

Locate the database you want to add to your Blackboard course.

Right-click (CTRL-click on a Mac) on the database link and copy the URL:

  1. Firefox & Chrome: select "Copy Link Address"
  2. Internet Explorer: select "Properties" to see the link, then copy the full link
  3. Safari: select "Copy link"

Go to your Blackboard course to the left-hand menu and select Course Content.

In the Build Content menu, select Web Link.

Fill out the form. Type the title of the database in the Name field, and paste the URL in the URL field. Add a description and set the link's options before clicking Submit in the bottom-right.

Success! The newly added database should appear like the example below under Course Content.
