Integrating Library Resources into Blackboard

Home

Welcome

This guide describes the ways to integrate various library resources into Blackboard courses.

Using this Guide

We have created tabs along the top for the different types of sources you may want to use:

  • eBooks
  • Databases
  • Full-Text Articles
  • Streaming Video

There are many places and ways to add course content whether it's a library resource or not. In this guide we describe a single way to integrate library resources.  For additional support with Blackboard, contact ITS

For any questions about the content of this guide or about library resources, please Ask a Librarian.

Default Library Presence in Blackboard

Every Blackboard course contains a Library Resources link on the left-hand menu that directs your students to a research guide appropriate for the course.

Students can get help from a librarian on this page by clicking on Ask a Librarian in the left-hand menu or by scrolling down to the last box on the guide. This is currently implemented in all Blackboard courses, you do not need to do anything to make these resources available to your students.

Course Guides

Course guides are similar to our research guides in that they bring together library resources that focus on a particular subject or discipline, but they are tailored specifically to the needs of a class or assignment. For a list of our current course guides, and to look at the guides created in previous semesters, please visit our course guides page. Below is a screenshot of a guide that was created for CO309: Communication Capstone.

If you are interested in having a course guide created for you, please contact your Faculty Partnership Program partner.
